JD Vance fires back at Joe Rogan for blasting MAGA supporters as 'unintelligent dorks'

Vice President JD Vance has swiftly responded to criticisms from Joe Rogan, after the popular podcaster took a jab at the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement. Rogan described the movement’s members as “uninteresting, unintelligent people” and “dorks,” while also suggesting that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were more stringent on immigration than former President Trump.

During Thursday’s episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Rogan criticized the direction of the MAGA movement. He argued that it has lost focus and become chaotic, as it now includes both radical extremists and “real, genuine patriots.” According to Rogan, this mix has diluted the movement’s effectiveness.

“That phrase, ‘Make America Great Again,’ has become synonymous with a bunch of dorks,” Rogan remarked to comedian Dave Smith. “Many of them are these really weird, uninteresting, unintelligent people who need something to cling to. And then you have genuine patriots who are unfortunately grouped together with them. Why should anyone have to accept that?”

Despite having previously endorsed Trump, Rogan didn’t hold back in critiquing some of his supporters, particularly when discussing the situation in Iran.

Meanwhile, JD Vance addressed Rogan’s comments in a light-hearted manner during an interview with right-wing podcaster Benny Johnson, choosing to brush off the remarks with laughter rather than engage in a heated exchange.

Vance, in an interview with right-wing podcaster Benny Johnson, brushed off the swipe with a laugh.

“I think we have many, fewer dorks than the far left, but everybody’s got some dorks,” the veep quipped.

“We love our dorks. We love our cool kids. We love anybody who wants to save the country.”

Johnson also pressed Vance on comments Rogan made Wednesday in a separate episode, where he insisted Obama and Clinton had a hardline approach to immigration that was stronger than Trump’s.

Pointing to the Democrats 2007 remarks, the podcaster said the former secretary of state once pushed a “hardcore right-wing 2026 perspective” on illegal immigration.

Vance stressed that Rogan was wrong and planned to “text” him about it.

“I did not see Joe say this. I’m going to text Joe because that is definitely wrong,” the vice president said.

“The numbers from the Obama administration or any other administration – they weren’t doing a tenth of what we’re doing. So Joe is wrong on this. We’ve been the best administration in American history at deporting illegal aliens. The problem is we also followed the worst administration at letting them in.”
