The ex-wife of the Duke of York, Sarah Ferguson, reportedly once traveled 1,500 miles in an effort to date famed golfer Tiger Woods. This revelation comes from a forthcoming explosive biography of Prince Andrew, set to be released next week, as exclusively disclosed by the Daily Mail.
This upcoming book is penned by renowned author and historian Andrew Lownie and delves into the Duchess of York’s extravagant lifestyle, spanning from her 1986 marriage to her dating ventures post-divorce.
The Daily Mail has shared excerpts from the book titled “Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York,” with a recent Mail+ segment unveiling that Ferguson once shared with Piers Morgan about her aspirations to woo the ‘gorgeous’ Woods, an athlete who has claimed 15 major championships.
At 65, Ferguson targeted numerous potential partners after her highly publicized split from Prince Andrew, initially eyeing John Kennedy Jnr, the son of the slain US President JFK, during a visit to New York.
Although she planned an encounter with the dashing Kennedy, she eventually crossed paths with Woods, who at that time was beginning his ascent in the golf world.
She proclaimed to Morgan ‘I’m in love’ with the then 22-year-old, and eventually flew 1,500 miles just to see Woods.

Fergie separated from Prince Andrew in 1992 but continued to indulge in a royal lifestyle after
Piers Morgan inquired, ‘Who’s the lucky guy?’ after noting Ferguson’s previous infatuation with actor Kevin Costner. Costner is known for winning an Academy Award for Best Director for the 1990 film “Dances With Wolves,” in which he also starred.
‘He doesn’t know yet,’ she replied. ‘It’s Tiger Woods! He’s so gorgeous. Do you think I stand a chance with him?’
Morgan then tried to temper Ferguson’s expectations by suggesting that Woods might not have much room in his schedule for dating royals.
Fergie didn’t want to give up, though, telling Morgan that she would ‘follow him around the course for a bit and see how I get on.’
Morgan’s insinuation that it would not end well for the Duchess of York ended up being misguided advice, as she ended up becoming good friends with Woods.
In 1997, after Woods had secured another victory at the Byron Nelson tournament in Texas, during his golden era within the sport, the pair were pictured embracing while Ferguson sported a beaming smile.
As recently as 2019, Ferguson was seen congratulating Woods’ jaw-dropping comeback to win the Masters, which is his most recent major triumph within the sport.
On Instagram, she wrote: ‘Never have I been more proud. Good days and bad days, Tigers’ heart is loyal, steadfast, and he is an amazing friend.’

Ferguson remains good friends with Prince Andrew and they still live together in Windsor
Ferguson’s love of megastars didn’t end at Woods, and she moved on to famous actor George Clooney thereafter.
When being interviewed on one occasion, she was asked if she would go out with the charming and charismatic Clooney, and she replied: ‘Are pork chops greasy?’
Ferguson remains good friends with Prince Andrew, despite their divorce, to this day, and still lives with him.
The biography does, however, delve into her life post-separation, including crazy holidays and the hefty debts she had to deal with along the way.
