Aaron Ramsdale has admitted his celebration in front of Bruno Fernandes was ‘good sh**housery’, but was blown way out of proportion by pundits and fans.

United had the opportunity to draw level when Arsenal led 2-1, only for Bruno Fernandes to strike the post from the penalty spot to the delight of Ramsdale.

The 23-year-old jumped and punched the air as he got huddled by team-mates in front of Fernandes, drawing comparisons to Gunners legend Martin Keown in the process.

The Gunners eventually sealed a 3-1 victory in that match last month, but this not the first time the England international has been labelled a ‘sh**house’ during his career.

Ramsdale was the latest guest on Peter Crouch’s ‘That Peter Crouch Podcast’ and revealed all on his celebration.

Host Crouch believes the England international is becoming a ‘top sh**houser’ in the Premier League, by insisting: ‘One of England’s greatest. The Keown versus Bruno Fernandes for me top shithouse move of the season.’

Ramsdale told That Peter Crouch Podcast: ‘It was good sh**housery, but I think it got blown out of proportion because there was five or six Arsenal players in front of me so I celebrated with them.

‘It looked like it, I probably had that a bit in my head then stopped halfway, but it’s just emotion.

‘Nothing to do with him or to do with the football club or anything like that. It was just pure emotion.’

The former Bournemouth and Sheffield United shot-stopper who joined Arsenal for £24million last summer also revealed his recent encounter at Stamford Bridge in the Gunners 4-2 victory.

‘I find it quite funny how other players or fans can do what they want to goalies who stand there on their own for 90 minutes getting abused.

‘I waved at a Chelsea fan the other week, who was giving me all sorts in the second-half, so when we scored the penalty I waved at him and security guard said why did you do that? Was it necessary, I said you’ve listened to everything he said, he has called me every name under the sun, but I can’t simply wave. It’s enjoyment for me.’

Former England striker Crouch also questioned Ramsdale on which players suck up to Gunners boss Mikel Arteta.

The term Crouch uses for it is ‘parched‘, because when the rest of the players are having a drinks break during an intense training session, certain players are sucking up to the manager and his coaching staff instead.

The former striker asked: ‘Are you parched? To which Ramsdale responded, ‘absolutely not!’, but Crouch insisted ‘Leno thinks you’re parched.’

Ramsdale went on to reveal Martin Odegaard and Cedric Soares as the most ‘parched’ at Arsenal.

‘Martin Odegaard is parched. To be fair he was playing for Real Madrid when he was 12. I don’t know what they are saying because they speak Spanish.

‘The day after a game he [Arteta] will speak to most people in English. Maybe one of the two of the lads who’s English isn’t perfect [he’ll speak to in foreign languages].

‘But Martin’s English is perfect and he’s speaking Spanish! How parched. And I’ll tell you who is another parched! Cedric Soares, he thinks he’s a future Pep. Brilliant.’
