Arsenal Wenger has seen enough from Tottenham to believe they will be real contenders for the Premier League this season.

Spurs have been reborn under new manager Ange Postecoglou and sit top of the table after 10 matches.

‘They bought James Maddison, who is a great player. He is that link from low midfield to high midfield and added some technical creativity to the team

‘They bought Micky Van de Ven, who I find absolutely exceptional. They had weaknesses there and last season [Hugo] Lloris had not the best of seasons as well. And the movement from Son into the middle looks very good.’

However, Wenger thinks a number of teams are in the race this season.

‘For the Premier League, I would say Arsenal for me, Liverpool, Tottenham, [Manchester] City of course will always come back,’ he said. ‘They look like the four… at the moment for the Premier League.’

Arsenal, Liverpool and City kept the pressure on with wins over Sheffield United, Nottingham Forest and Manchester United respectively.
