Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing defender Clement Lenglet in the January transfer window.

The centre-back is currently on loan at Aston Villa from Barcelona but has made just five appearances for Unai Emery’s team so far this season, all of which have come in the Europa Conference League.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Bayern believe that Lenglet would provide them with a useful defensive option.

In addition, Lenglet has been capped by France on 15 occasions.

Bayern are currently in second place in the Bundesliga, three points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen with a game in hand.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are currently without centre-back Matthijs De Ligt due to a knee ligament tear.

Bayern have already secured a deal for Bryan Zaragoza from Granada ahead of next season, as reported by the club’s official website.

A winger who can also play as an attacking midfielder, Zaragoza has agreed a five-year contract with Bayern.
