Chelsea Legends came out 4-0 victors over the Bayern Munich legends at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night thanks to goals from Michael Essien, John Terry, Gary Cahill and Tiago.

The Blues named a strong line-up with a handful of Premier League legends including Petr Cech, Terry, Cahill, Jon Obi Mikel and Michael Essien.

Gianfranco Zola was also named as a substitute and showed that he still has it with a sublime assist.

Many familiar faces returned to Chelsea to warm welcomes as a sold-out Stamford Bridge welcomed their icons back onto the pitch once again.

Essien got the Blues off to a fine start as he ran onto the end of a cross from Ramires to head home, showing that the midfielder, who was nicknamed ‘The Bison’ by Blues fans, still has an eye for goal.

Captain Terry scored on his return to Stamford Bridge, playing amid rumours of a potential move to Saudi Arabia to take his first role in management.

The defender danced past the opposing Bayern Munich players before combining well with Florent Malouda.

Malouda picked out Terry, who slid the ball home before pointing to the sky to celebrate in front of his Chelsea supporters as he netted his unofficial 68th goal for the club.

Terry’s goal came in the 26th minute, a number that he wore on the back of his shirt for his entire Chelsea career – and once again on the night.

The Blues went into half-time with a comfortable lead but little did they know that Terry’s defensive partner Cahill would treat them to a goal next.

Stamford Bridge was used to the pair scoring frequently during their time in defence together, so there should be no real surprise that they netted again.

Claude Makelele came off the bench to win the ball in typical fashion before finding Zola out wide.

The Italian played a one-two with Cahill on the hour mark before scooping the ball into Cahill, who had made a Terry-like run into the box.

The ball ended up falling to Tiago, who unselfishly passed along to Cahill to send Stamford Bridge into celebration.

It was the playmaker who rounded off the scoring, running onto the end of an Essien pass before chipping the ball over the goalkeeper from just six yards out.

The event raised money for charity and it was a real pleasure for the Blues faithful to have something to smile about at Stamford Bridge after a poor start to the Premier League season.
