Chelsea is gearing up for a significant summer transfer window, buoyed by the £100 million boost from securing Champions League football for the next season.
In the coming weeks, they could earn an additional £100 million if they secure victory in the Club World Cup in the United States. Their focus, however, remains on acquiring players who can elevate them from fourth place to the top of the Premier League standings.
We put out the call for your transfer questions – and you answered in your droves.
Are we really going to pay £84million for Hugo Ekitike? And how does it impact Nicolas Jackson’s future?
While Chelsea’s interest in Hugo Ekitike is genuine, it seems that they are not yet close to signing him. This is largely due to Eintracht Frankfurt’s steadfast £84 million valuation of the striker.
Chelsea want to find value in the market and they are not prepared to meet that asking price for the 22-year-old Frenchman. We’ll have to see how this one develops in talks.

Marc Guiu will be allowed to leave Chelsea on loan to get more game time
As a side note, even if they are looking at signing another striker after Liam Delap, I’ve not had any indications that they are trying to sell Nicolas Jackson.
Sources close to Jackson add he is happy where he is and ready to compete. Marc Guiu can leave on loan for guaranteed game time.
What’s happening with the left wing situation?
Chelsea see Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens as a fine prospect. The 20-year-old Englishman is available for around £50m, which is twice the fee that Jadon Sancho would have cost.
There’s been a suggestion going around that Chelsea want to get Gittens done and dusted before the Club World Cup, but I’m told that’s not the case. They’re in no rush and under no pressure to make it happen this week. If they can, great. But if not, there’s still a second window to come.

Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao is likely to prove too pricey for Chelsea
Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao is likely to prove too pricey for Chelsea. Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho comes with some concerns over his character and I haven’t heard too much on him since sources confirmed their interest in January.
As I said a few weeks back, Real Madrid’s Rodrygo is a no-go.
What’s going on with the goalkeepers?
Chelsea have made a check on AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan. However, Milan want £25m and that’s too high for a 29-year-old with a single year remaining on his current contract.
Like I said above, Chelsea want value. There will need to be some wiggle room in negotiations if that one is to happen. Chelsea haven’t tested Milan’s resolve with a lower bid yet.

Mike Penders, 19, is joining from Belgian club Genk to bolster Chelsea’s goalkeeping ranks
The club insist they are happy with the four goalkeepers they have: Robert Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen, Djordje Petrovic and Mike Penders, the 19-year-old coming in from Genk. However, there is no obvious No 1 in that quartet.
Maignan would be an upgrade, and my personal opinion is that Chelsea should try to make sure they do not miss this opportunity.
Who’s for sale?
Probably faster to say who isn’t. Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella and Enzo Fernandez. They’re among the non-negotiables.
I’m not saying that means they are active in trying to sell everyone else, but if interest arrived in the others, Chelsea would have some thinking to do.
That includes Noni Madueke. They aren’t actively trying to sell him, but you never know, a club could come in and that would leave both Chelsea and Madueke with a decision to make.

Marc Cucurella and Moises Caicedo are in Chelsea’s group of untouchables

Noni Madueke could leave Chelsea if a club shows the right interest

Joao Felix is likely to be available for transfer this summer, a year after joining for £46m
Otherwise, Christopher Nkunku can leave, and he is keen to do so himself. Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Carney Chukwuemeka, Armando Broja, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Renato Veiga and Axel Disasi are others who can be sold. Joao Felix likely also, while there could be interest shown in Trevoh Chalobah and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
There has already been interest in some of their own, such as Alfie Gilchrist, who spent the last season on loan at Championship Sheffield United. Loans for Aaron Anselmino and Mike Penders are also pending.
With Kendry Paez possibly off to Strasbourg on loan, who’s next in line as deputy to Cole Palmer for the No 10 spot?
Kendry Paez has indeed trained with Strasbourg. While Chelsea and sources in Paez’s camp consistently said that was purely so he could get acclimatised to Europe, I’d be very surprised if he isn’t with the sister club on loan next season.
As for who deputises for Cole Palmer, Brazil pair Andrey Santos and Estevao Willian are both seen as options, as the idea currently is to keep them with the first team.

Estevao Willian will also be an option at No 10 when he joins from Palmeiras later this summer
You can read more about Santos, and his dreams to become a star in west London, in this exclusive interview with Mail Sport.
I’ve not heard that Chelsea are in the market for another No 10. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Enzo Fernandez filled in there in the odd game last season also.
Most likely scenarios for Josh Acheampong, Tyrique George and Ishe Samuels-Smith?
I haven’t heard concrete plans for Josh Acheampong, but know there is outside interest in him as a loan option for next season.
Tyrique George is set to stick around unless something changes there.

Liam Delap will likely go to the Club World Cup rather than the Under 21 Euros with England
Ishe Samuels-Smith is also expected to be around the first-team picture next season as a potential back-up to Marc Cucurella. Enzo Maresca likes him.
It will be very interesting to see who is selected to go with the squad to the Club World Cup in less than two weeks’ time as that will tell us more.
It is sounding like Liam Delap will be among those in the United States, by the way, rather than with England’s Under 21s for the Euros.
What’s going on with Mykhailo Mudryk?
I get asked this question all the time, but it’s such a legally sensitive situation that it is difficult for anyone to do an update, lest I want another email landing from his lawyers.
I’ll refer you to the column I did on it in March because it still stands. Read it at this link.

Is centre back a priority?
Chelsea are prioritising other areas first and foremost, but are looking at any and all opportunities, hence why they were in for Dean Huijsen before Real Madrid made sure they nabbed him.
We thought that with Champions League qualification, our targets would change, but they haven’t. Are we going to go for any elite players in this window or not?
There is still a desire at Chelsea to focus on their strategy in signing the world’s best youngsters and developing them into the superstars they believe they can be.
The Blues see the starlets they are targeting as elite players in progress.
