Everton will reportedly only listen to offers of around £100m for defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

The towering 21-year-old centre-back has been linked with a move to Manchester United in the future.

Talk over his future has been increased after an excellent season to date, making 16 appearances for Sean Dyche’s team who have impressed in recent weeks.

A recruitment insider told the outlet that Branthwaite is a ‘Rolls Royce defender who has everything’ and that it is heavily expected he will be an England regular for years to come.

Everton’s position is strengthened by the fact that the player’s contract does not expire until 2027, meaning they are in no pressure to sell their prized asset.

Branthwaite joined Everton from Carlisle in 2020 and was loaned out to PSV Eindhoven last season.

Dyche first spoke to him during his time at PSV and has been impressed with his character.

He said in a press conference: ‘I think you can never define someone’s character, but even last season speaking to him on the phone a couple of times when I first got here, I could tell he was very level, he was enjoying the experience [at PSV], he was taking on the challenge.

‘He was very unlucky in pre-season, missed a couple of weeks, but he seemed to be quite an assured character, quite a calm character. I like that in all players, but particularly in centre halves you want that.

‘His adaptation has been quite clear to the pace and the detail of Premier League football, I think he continues to improve, and physically he is a good specimen, we know that.’

Manchester United have struggled defensively this season, losing seven of their 17 matches so far this campaign.
