Liverpool fans are closely tracking a private jet that has left Munich, which could be carrying Ryan Gravenberch.

The Reds agreed a £35million deal to sign the Bayern Munich midfielder on a five-year contract on Thursday, with a medical planned today.

Reports from Germany claim Gravenberch is travelling to Merseyside on a Bombardier Challenger 604, one of which left Munich early on Friday morning.

Mail Sport reported earlier this week that the 21-year-old had agreed terms with Jurgen Klopp’s side and it was just agreeing a fee with Bayern that held up the deal.

Liverpool’s German sporting director Jorg Schmadtke has extensive experience with the Bundesliga and has been key to the ongoing discussions thus far.

The Holland international joined Bayern for £21m last summer on a five-year deal with the Bavarian giants beating off interest from Manchester United to secure his signature.

However, Gravenberch struggled to hold down a consistent place in the starting XI in his maiden season in Germany as Bayern recovered from a poor run of form to secure an 11th-consecutive league title on the final day of last season.

Klopp is said to be a keen admirer of the former Ajax star, with his versatility offering the Reds various options in midfield.

Liverpool have found themselves in need of reinforcements after a number of former stalwarts departed the club this summer.

Jordan Henderson joined former team-mate Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq, while Fabinho also made a move to the Saudi Pro League, joining Al-Ittihad. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner all left at the end of their contracts last season.

With Gravenberch heading to Liverpool, Bayern Munich are stepping up their move for Fulham’s Joao Palhinha.

Bayern have shown a willingness to pay around £60m for Palhinha but Fulham are pushing for more than £70m due to the limited time they will be left with to find a replacement.

An initial bid of £47m has been rejected by Fulham as talks continue between the two clubs.

Fulham have enquired about Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana as they strive to get a midfielder in before the transfer window closes on Friday.
