A hat-trick for Che Adams and a first international goal for George Hirst earned Scotland a convincing victory in their friendly against Liechtenstein.

Adams gave them an early lead before adding two more, one of them in stoppage time, on a comfortable night for Steve Clarke’s side.

In a side that was much-changed from the one that lost 3-1 to Iceland on Friday, Lennon Miller was excellent on his first start for Scotland.

The result eases some of the pressure on Clarke, who will now focus on the first match of Scotland’s World Cup qualifying campaign, against Denmark in September.

Having cut short his holiday to play, the debutant was hardly any busier here. Didn’t have a save to make.

Anthony Ralston – 6.5

Comfortable throughout. With little to do defensively, he was able to get forward and supplement the attack.

Jack Hendry – 7

Strolled through it with plenty of the ball. Picked out nice passes and glanced a second-half header over the bar.

Scott McKenna – 6.5

Strong and willing to step out, although he stood off his man when Liechtenstein mustered their one shot at goal.

Andy Robertson – 7

Played on the front foot, always probing and looking for space ahead. A focused, professional display by the skipper.

Lewis Ferguson – 6.5

Solid and mature on the right of a narrow midfield four. Might have done better with an early scoring chance.

Lennon Miller – 8

Confident and assured on his first start. Saw passes others wouldn’t. Set up the second goal after leading a press.

Billy Gilmour – 7

Kept everything ticking over in his playmaker’s role. Passed it well on a slow pitch; delivered some clever through balls.

John McGinn – 7

Barged down the left, drawing fouls and hitting the byeline. Tested the keeper with a couple of long-range efforts.

Che Adams- 8

At last, a striker who scores goals — three of them. A crisp shot, an instinctive second and a brave header for the third.

George Hirst – 7

Scored his first Scotland goal with a poacher’s finish at the back post. Forged a promising partnership with Adams.
