Liverpool have submitted their 23-man squad for the Europa League campaign and they’ve made a number of interesting selections.

The Reds will compete in the European competition for the first time since Jurgen Klopp’s debut season, after their disappointing 5th place finish last term.

And, ahead of their return to the Europa League, the Reds have named their squad that will be eligible for the early stages of the competition.

And, on top of that, Klopp has opted for talent over experience within his squad, after omitting one senior player who has been at the club since 2019.

It was third-choice goalkeeper Adrian who was the unlucky star that missed out on a place within the Reds’ Europa League squad for the 2023-24 campaign.

Despite Klopp having an extra two places available, the Spaniard will watch their European campaign from the sidelines this season.

Youngsters Bobby Clark and Ben Doak have both been included in the squad having impressed Klopp over recent months.

Clark, 18, made multiple appearances throughout pre-season for the Reds, while Doak has been a feature in the first-team since the back end of last year.

The rest of Liverpool’s ‘List A’ was comprised of the typical first-team players that have featured for the Reds in Europe previously.

A minimum of eight of spots in the squad must be allocated to ‘locally trained’ players and a maximum of four can be ‘association trained’.

A number of players will be included on Liverpool’s ‘List B’, which allows free an unlimited number of players born after January 1st 2002 to be registered.

That’ll include the likes of Harvey Elliott, Stefan Bajcetic, Jarell Quansah, Conor Bradley and Marcelo Pitaluga.
