Luton Town will be without top scorer Elijah Adebayo for the visit of Manchester United after the striker was injured in the warm-up.

The 26-year-old has netted nine times for the Hatters this season and was expected to take his place in today’s line-up at Kenilworth Road.

However, Rob Edwards has been forced into a late change and Adebayo has been replaced in the starting XI by Cauley Woodrow.

In January the forward became the first Luton player to score a hat-trick in the Premier League when he netted a treble in the 4-0 win over Brighton.

He also scored against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City so far this season, as well a last minute equaliser against Nottingham Forest in October.

Adebayo’s replacement Woodrow is yet to score in the Premier League this season, but has found the net in both cup competitions – including the winner against Everton in the FA Cup Fourth Round.

Luton go into the game looking to bounce back from their disappointing home defeat to Sheffield United last time out.

They remain a point outside the Premier League’s bottom three, having played a game more than Everton, but after the visit of United face fixtures away at Liverpool before hosting Aston Villa – with an FA Cup clash with Man City sandwiched in between.

Erik ten Hag’s side go into the game having yet to taste defeat in the league since the turn of the year, and a win help close the gap on Tottenham in the race for the top four after their defeat to Wolves on Saturday.
