Manchester United ‘make contact with Paulo Dybala’s agent’ as the Red Devils scramble to find a new striker after Cristiano Ronaldo’s asked to leave the club… but ‘they face competition from Tottenham, Inter and Napoli for the free agent’

  • Paulo Dybala’s agent has been approached by Man United according to reports
  • Cristiano Ronaldo informed the Red Devils on Saturday that he wants to leave
  • New boss Erik ten Hag is now ‘considering potential replacements in attack’
  • Arsenal, Spurs, Napoli and Inter Milan ‘are also keen to lure free agent Dybala’

Manchester United have approached Paulo Dybala’s agent in an effort to sign the Argentine forward, according to reports.

The Red Devils were handed a shock on Saturday when star man Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his desire to leave Old Trafford ahead of next season.

The Portuguese striker is frustrated by the club’s lack of transfer activity this summer and has reportedly disagreed with the decision to appoint three managers in quick succession following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last November.

But Ronaldo is also eager to play in the Champions League again next campaign, having featured in the competition for the last 19 consecutive seasons.

New boss Erik ten Hag, who succeeded Michael Carrick’s and Ralf Rangnick’s temporary stints in the hotseat this summer, has yet to make a signing in the transfer window despite flirting with potential moves for Frenkie de Jong and Tyrell Malacia.

It is believed Manchester United would be satisfied to part with Ronaldo were a ‘suitable offer’ put on the table, which has prompted the club to consider replacements in attack.

The Old Trafford chiefs have spoken to Dybala’s representatives in a bid to agree a deal with the 28-year-old and it is believed Arsenal have also made contact, according to La Repubblica.

The Italian outlet claims that Inter Milan, Tottenham Hotspur and Napoli are also interested in securing his signature, although there is no confirmation they have yet held talks with the forward’s agent Jorge Antun.

Free agent Dybala has called an end to his seven-year spell at Juventus having scored 115 goals in 293 appearances at the club.
