Nikola Jokic has added another championship moment to his résumé — this time from the racetrack rather than the basketball court.
Delicious Gar, a horse owned by the Denver Nuggets superstar, captured the Dužijanca harness race over the weekend at the Subotica Hippodrome in Serbia. The victory was a decisive one, with Delicious Gar pulling well clear of the field before the finish. Jokic, visibly moved by the result, celebrated alongside friends and family and even marked the occasion by opening a bottle of champagne.

The win continues an impressive streak for Jokic’s racing stable. It marks the second straight year that one of his horses has claimed the Dužijanca title, following Demon Dell’Est of his Dream Catcher stables, which won the same event in 2025.
Jokic’s passion for horses has long been part of his story. The three-time NBA MVP has been around them since at least the age of 12, and those close to him say the bond remains central to his life away from basketball. In 2025, Nebojša Vagić, Jokic’s godfather and offseason conditioning coach, told ESPN’s Tim Keown that “the horses are where he’s happiest.”
