Peter Crouch took a hilarious tumble on live TV as he competed in a crossbar challenge against Joe Cole ahead of Wolves’ clash with Liverpool.

The former Liverpool man compared himself to Darwin Nunez in a recent Mail Sport interview, but current manager Jurgen Klopp might think twice about calling up the now-pundit after he came a cropper while striking the ball.

But Crouch was all smiles as he rose from the Molineux turf and had a laugh with TNT Sports presenter Lynsey Hipgrave and co-pundit Cole.

‘I knew someone was going to fall!,’ said Hipgrave.

Cole couldn’t resist a jibe. ‘Exactly what TNT Sports wanted!’, he said, as the channel replayed a clip of the fall.

‘You know what, this is why they make me do these things. I’m going to be a meme forever now! Disgrace!’ said Crouch as he played up the theatre of the moment.

Indeed, his premonition was at least partly true as the clip is already being shared around on social media.

‘We’ll go and find you some Deep Heat or something in the break,’ said Hipgrave to conclude.

And for what it’s worth, no, he did not hit the crossbar.
