Rangers manager Danny Rohl has affirmed the club’s commitment to strengthening their squad in pursuit of silverware this season.

The Glasgow-based club has already bolstered their lineup with three new additions in the January transfer window. Among these is Wolfsburg winger Andreas Skov Olsen, whose loan deal was finalized just before Rangers’ Scottish Cup triumph over Annan on Friday night.

Skov Olsen was introduced to fans alongside fellow newcomers Tochi Chukwuani and Tuur Rommens before the match kicked off. Rangers subsequently secured their spot in the fifth round with an impressive 5-0 victory against the League Two opponents.

Rohl emphasized the club’s ongoing efforts in the transfer market, stating, “Overall, it was a productive week for us. We signed three players, and today we added Andy to the team.”

He continued, “Andreas brings experience and offers a unique skill set on the right flank with his left foot. He has the ability to score goals.”

Expressing satisfaction with the club’s current progress, Rohl added, “I’m very pleased and proud of our efforts thus far, but we must remain proactive and continue to push forward.”

‘We have to be more and more, we are hungry, all in all you feel it at the moment, and there is big confidence back.

‘There is a pride back, but for this we have to work hard that we continue like this in the next couple of weeks and on Monday we start in a busy time.

‘It’s difficult to say exactly the numbers, but yeah, I’m still positive that there will come more players.’

Rangers cruised to victory thanks to a hat-trick from Bojan Miovski and two goals from Kieran Dowell and Thelo Aasgaard.

Targeting a league and cup double, Rohl added: ‘I think in general we can play for two titles at the moment, I think that’s what we want.

‘I think it’s a great opportunity, we want to push, I think we are hungry in the changing room at the moment.

‘I think there was a big statement in Aberdeen when I felt the dressing room inside after the win, it was really fantastic.

‘It showed me that there is something growing, there is a connection, there is a belief, there is a trust to each other, it’s really fantastic to see.’

Skov Olsen said: ‘Rangers is the biggest club here in Scotland, with huge history and huge traditions.

‘It’s a very old club so when I finally heard that I have an opportunity to come here, I was never in doubt for a second.

‘I just want to come here and try to help to win trophies with the rest of the team. I’ll do my best and have a great time here.

‘I have a lot of international experience as well with Denmark, in the Champions League with Brugge and winning trophies which is the most important thing. Hopefully it can give me an advantage.’

Having signed Chukwuani, Rommens and Skov Olsen over the past fortnight, Rangers are keen to make further additions before the end of the window.

There is a recognition among the Ibrox hierarchy about the opportunity they have in the title race and, if they were to go all the way, the likelihood of automatic entry into the Champions League that would come with it.

Rangers are ideally still looking for another holding midfielder that would be able to provide cover given that Connor Barron could be out of action for up to three months.

They are also in the market for another wide player, with Motherwell’s Tawanda Maswanhise on their radar, as well as a new striker.

But the their ability to do any further business may hinge on their ability to clear some players off the books and free up some wages.

It was confirmed on Friday night that Lyall Cameron has joined Aberdeen on loan for the rest of the season, but Daily Mail Sport understands there is no option for the Dons to buy him in the summer.

‘I think for Lyall it’s a good opportunity to get minutes, for us it’s helpful as well,’ added Rohl. ‘In this case, we go forward.’

Kieran Dowell, Rabbi Matondo, Nedim Bajrami, Danilo, Joe Rothwell and Clinton Nsiala are all expected to be shipped out before the end of the window if possible.

Meanwhile, Annan player-manager Willie Gibson said of the cup tie: ‘There were a lot of positives, although we come away on a 5-0 defeat. We know it’s sore but we knew the quality we were up against.

‘I was really proud of the way we played. We did create chances. They’re good players, they know how to move the ball that quickly and get into the areas that hurt you. The fifth goal just tops it off, it shows you the quality that’s in the side.’
