Santos and Umbro have unveiled a special-edition third kit honoring club legend Neymar Jr. and his unforgettable first spell with the team.

The Brazilian star gained worldwide recognition through his time at the Santos academy, with 225 matches and 136 goals before transferring to Barcelona in 2013. He made a heartfelt return to Santos in January 2025, a nostalgic return over a decade later.

The new jersey revives the classic all-blue style — a design linked to Santos’ most notable periods. It showcases a tonal swirl graphic across the front and sleeves, along with elements that honor Neymar’s impact.

A traditional polo collar is a tribute to Neymar’s iconic upturned collar look, with the phrase “Eu vou, mas… eu volto!” (“I’m going, but… I’ll be back!”) printed on the back of the neck — symbolizing the player’s goodbye message in 2013.

On the front hem, a special patch displays a crown and the word “Príncipe” (Prince) — Neymar’s nickname at the club. The design subtly incorporates his No. 10 and the letter “N” into the typography.

Neymar and the team debuted the kit on June 1 in a Serie A clash against Botafogo at the Estádio Urbano Caldeira.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t the fairytale return many had hoped for — Santos fell 1-0, and Neymar was sent off in the 76th minute after attempting to score with his hand in a moment reminiscent of Diego Maradona’s infamous “Hand of God.”

Safe to say, that particular moment won’t be making it onto any future tribute kits.
