Football fans believe Sam Kerr is engaged after video footage of her partner, American star Kristie Mewis, wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring emerged.
The loved-up couple celebrated Kerr’s 30th birthday earlier this month after returning from a whirlwind Women’s World Cup in Australia, where Kerr led the Matildas to the semi-final.
Mewis headed back to the States to link up with her club side, Gotham FC, while Kerr went to London to begin pre-season training with Chelsea.
Mewis featured in a promotional clip for the new EA FC 24 video game, where a shiny piece of jewellery caught the eye as she learnt the rating of her player in the game.

The loved-up women’s football power couple have been seeing each other since 2019
No official announcements have been made by either Kerr or Mewis, but speculation is rife among fans about the pair’s relationship status.
‘Not the ROCK,’ one fan posted online.
Another added: ‘Omg is Kristie wearing an engagement ring?’
‘WHATS THAT ON YOUR HAND KRISTIE??’ a third said.
The couple met while they were both playing for competing clubs in the US league in 2019.
They spoke online for almost four months during the 2020 Covid lockdown before spending two weeks in quarantine together, where they quickly fell in love.
The pair continued their romance in the lead-up to the Olympics in 2021 where – following America’s defeat of Australia in the semi-finals – they were photographed together.
Their on-pitch embrace made headlines as Kerr’s break-up from her former longtime partner – another US club player Nikki Stanton – had not yet become public.

Their cross-global romance has since been heavily documented on social media with both women amassing hundreds of thousands of followers.
‘We’re not private people. I like sharing my story. I like sharing who I am outside of football. Football is 5 per cent of my life,’ Kerr told UK publication Gaffer earlier this year.
Last month the couple travelled to Sydney while Kerr played with the Matildas in the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
In a twist, Kerr competed against Kristie’s ex-girlfriend Rachel Daly, who played for England in the semi-final.
