Southampton striker Paul Onuachu is holding talks over a loan deal with Turkish club Trabzonspor.

Onuachu has been left in the cold at St Mary’s following relegation and his only appearance under Russell Martin this season came in the EFL Cup at Gillingham.

The 29-year-old striker was signed for £18million in January after scoring at nearly a goal-a-game at Belgian side Genk but failed to find the net in 11 Premier League appearances.

The Turkish transfer widow is open until September 15 allowing English clubs to offload surplus players before naming their 25-name squads.
