Wolves open to Pedro Neto departure amid links to Arsenal and Tottenham on one condition

Wolves will not stand in Neto’s way if a Champions League club looks to try sign him this summer, talkSPORT understands.

However, the Molineux outfit will demand a club-record fee for the Portugal international’s services.

That fee would surpass the price that Manchester City paid last summer for Matheus Nunes, which amounted to £53million.

Neto has been a shining light under Gary O’Neil this season and has attracted attention from Arsenal and Tottenham.

The 23-year-old has been sensational so far, grabbing eight assists in 15 appearances in the Premier League.

Wolves have found themselves needing to offload players to meet FFP regulations despite the sale of Nunes last summer.

Wolves are just about to break even on the Premier League’s strict Profit and Sustainability Rules.

And O’Neil is desperate for funds to sign a striker and a defender in the summer transfer window.

It means that the sale of Neto can help the Midlands club meet PSR rules and also help bring in a couple of players ahead of next season.

The 23-year-old is arguably Wolves’ best asset and has been tipped to become a star performer in the Premier League.

Injuries have been cruel to the zippy winger, who is blessed with great vision, creativity and skill.

Arsenal has had a prolonged interest in Neto, much like Tottenham. However, for Spurs to have a realistic opportunity to surpass their north London adversaries in securing his signature, they need to conclude the season within the top four positions.

Wolves are only ready to accept bids from clubs in the Champions League, something Arsenal are on course to be in next season as they tussle for the Premier League title.

Liverpool had also been interested in 2021 and were ready to make a bid for the former Braga star.

And with Mohamed Salah’s future still up in the air, there could be every chance that the Reds revisit their old transfer target.
