NEW YORK – In a significant development, Vanity Fair has decided to end its association with Olivia Nuzzi, who served as the magazine’s West Coast editor. This decision comes amid ongoing controversy stemming from her previous reporting on Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during her tenure at New York magazine.

The announcement was made through a joint statement released on Friday by representatives of both Vanity Fair and Nuzzi. The statement clarified that both parties had “mutually agreed, in the best interest of the magazine, to allow her contract to expire at the end of the year.”

Olivia Nuzzi, once a celebrated journalist at New York magazine, faced scrutiny in the fall of 2024 when it came to light that she had a close personal relationship with Kennedy. At that time, Kennedy had ascended to the role of head of the Department of Health and Human Services. Nuzzi had previously written a profile on Kennedy, but she failed to disclose their personal connection, which sparked significant controversy. This revelation led to her dismissal from New York magazine, and subsequently, from Vanity Fair in September.
