A 73-year-old New Hampshire man has been charged with the murders of his 67-year-old sister-in-law and her 39-year-old daughter.
Bath Police officers discovered Charles “Chuck” Readey at the residence along with the bodies of Cindy Moody and Kristal Moody in the early afternoon on Tuesday, stated the New Hampshire Department of Justice.
Readey was located outside the house, holding a rifle, as reported by WMUR. Bath Police Chief Todd Eck informed Readey that he couldn’t assist the shooting victims unless the gun was put down, to which Readey replied, “You can’t help them now,” according to court documents.
WCAX reported that Readey told investigators he was “frustrated” because Cindy Moody had resided in his basement for several years. He reportedly confessed to first shooting Kristal Moody through a door and then shooting her mother.
Readey is charged with two counts of second degree murder.
