Google Keep has at last expanded its text formatting features to the web app, nearly two years after introducing them for Android users. This update for Google’s web-based note-taking service is being gradually rolled out to Google Workspace, Workspace Individual, and personal Google account users, offering new ways to customize text and heading styles. It might take a few weeks until these text formatting options are visible to everyone.
The new formatting features reside in the underlined “A” icon located in the bottom left-hand corner of the updated Keep text editor. By clicking it, users can access a new toolbar to underline, bold, italicize, and remove formatting, along with converting regular text into H1 or H2 headers.
These enhancements should assist Google Keep web users in organizing their notes more effectively, making it easier to arrange and locate specific information. Ideally, the formatting will now sync between the web and Android versions, eliminating the need to re-edit everything.
