After finding an audience with the $99 Kodak-branded Snapic A1, Reto Project is going even cheaper with the new Kodak EC35, a budget-friendly 35mm film camera priced at just $34.99. This is not a camera trying to impress spec hunters: it uses a 25mm acrylic lens, a fixed f/10 aperture, and a 1/100 shutter speed, putting it squarely in the same simple point-and-shoot territory as a drugstore disposable camera. The manual film advance and rewind add to that back-to-basics feel, while the built-in automatic flash helps deliver the classic disposable-style snapshots many film photography fans are chasing.
Compared with the Snapic A1, the Kodak EC35 keeps things even more stripped down. There is no double-exposure mode and no zone focusing system; the whole idea is to load a roll of 35mm film and shoot without overthinking it. Its standout design touch is a sliding lens cover that recalls the beloved Olympus Stylus / Mju cameras. Reto Project is also leaning into playful styling, offering the EC35 in butter yellow, lavender, powder blue, blush pink, and avocado green. Each model features a slightly darker lens cover for a bit of visual contrast, while the midnight black and vanilla white versions get colored accents that make them feel a little more polished than a standard disposable camera.
