Microsoft’s Xbox 25th anniversary console comes in translucent green

Microsoft is commemorating a milestone with the launch of a special edition Xbox Series X to honor 25 years of Xbox gaming. This anniversary console draws inspiration from its predecessor, the original Xbox, showcasing a striking translucent green design that adorns both the console and its controller.

“For the first time, we’re introducing a translucent design to the Xbox Series X, inspired by the original Xbox and the beloved OG Green that resonates with so many gamers,” shared Jason Ronald, Vice President of Next Generation. “The Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition pays homage to our legacy, boasting the power and performance of the Xbox Series X. It features 1TB of storage and a design that reflects our journey and the community that has supported us throughout.”

Adding to its allure, the console’s front is illuminated by a green X when powered on, complemented by a 25th-anniversary emblem. Microsoft also hints at “a few hidden surprises” within, serving as a gesture of gratitude to its loyal fanbase.

The accompanying controller pays tribute to its roots with the original ABXY color scheme and bumpers reminiscent of the black and white buttons from the iconic Duke controller. “The back case and battery door are entirely transparent, showcasing the classic XBOX logo,” Ronald elaborated.

Gamers eager to get their hands on this nostalgic piece can anticipate its availability in November. However, Microsoft has yet to reveal the precise release date or pricing details.
