Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event is nearly here, and the tech giant appears ready to unveil a fresh wave of hardware. If the steady stream of leaks and rumors is any guide, Samsung’s latest foldable phones will take center stage. The biggest headline could be a major redesign for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, although Samsung may still have a few unexpected announcements in store.

This year’s Galaxy Unpacked is scheduled for July 22nd at 9AM ET / 6AM PT. Samsung is hosting the showcase in London, with attendance limited to invited guests.

Samsung has already hinted at a “new shape” for its foldable phone lineup, widely believed to be a wider Galaxy Z Fold 8. Leaker Evan Blass has posted several images that appear to show the upcoming handset. In those materials, the device has a passport-style shape when closed and opens into a broader display. The leaks also point to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, dual 50MP wide and ultra-wide rear cameras, plus 10MP cameras on both the cover screen and main display. Battery life could reach up to 26 hours of video playback.
Blass’s leak also indicates Samsung may introduce a Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, a model that reportedly keeps the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s slim, tall profile while adding a larger 5,000mAh battery rated for up to 27 hours of video playback. The rumored Galaxy Z Flip 8 appeared in the same leaked materials, too, seemingly featuring a 4,300mAh battery and a familiar camera system: a 10MP front-facing camera, along with 50MP wide and 12MP ultrawide cameras on the back.
New Samsung wearables are also expected at the event, including what could be the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. Another leak from Blass suggests the smartwatch will be 12 percent thinner than its predecessor and bring several notable upgrades, such as a Snapdragon Wear Elite processor, a bigger 800mAh battery, and a brighter display capable of reaching up to 5,000 nits. The Galaxy Watch 9 is also rumored to arrive with a familiar design and the same Snapdragon Wear Elite chip.
Samsung may also share more details about its upcoming AI-powered smart glasses. The devices are expected to launch this fall with designs from Warby Parker and Gentle Monster, but Samsung could offer an early look or brief demo during this week’s Galaxy Unpacked presentation.
