Samsung’s next clamshell foldable may look very familiar. New leaks suggest the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will closely mirror last year’s Galaxy Z Flip 7, with images and specifications published by WinFuture showing a device that appears almost unchanged, as 9to5Google noted.
The reported hardware changes also appear modest. Rather than moving the Galaxy Z Flip 8 to a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, Samsung is said to be using its own Exynos 2600 processor, following the Exynos 2500 found in the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Beyond that, the main upgrade mentioned in the leak is faster 45W wired charging support.
Samsung is widely expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 8 alongside its latest foldable lineup at a Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22nd. The company also recently teased its upcoming phones in a Spider-Man: Brand New Day promo, where a flip phone briefly appeared that looked nearly identical to the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and closely matched the design seen in WinFuture’s leaked renders. While the overall look may stay the same, the leak points to a new pale pink finish joining “cream” white and “graphite” black color options.
The display setup reportedly remains unchanged as well. According to WinFuture, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will feature the same 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED inner screen and 4.1-inch Super AMOLED cover display as the Z Flip 7. Memory and storage are also expected to carry over, with the base model offering 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
