Google’s next Made by Google live hardware event is officially on the calendar for August 12th, and the company is giving the showcase a familiar entertainment-world boost: Trevor Noah will host the presentation, according to a newly released promo video.
The teaser also points to a celebrity-heavy lineup beyond Noah. Expected appearances include Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper, who attended the 2025 event, Indian cricket standout Shubman Gill, a familiar face from Pixel advertisements, Japanese actress Ayami Nakajo, who has also appeared in Pixel campaigns, and NBA superstar Stephen Curry, who serves as a Google Performance Advisor. Cooper and Noah are both expanding their presence on YouTube as well, adding another layer of platform synergy to the event.
Google leaned into this talk-show-style format last year, when Jimmy Fallon hosted a Made by Google event that my colleague Victoria Song said felt less like a conventional tech keynote and more like “a live taping of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.” With another roster of high-profile personalities lined up, Google appears to be making another play for a broader, more mainstream audience. The New York City event is also timed for prime visibility, kicking off at 6PM ET, right as the East Coast workday wraps up.
On the hardware front, Google’s event preview offers quick looks at what appear to be a new smartphone and smartwatch, while the company has already teased the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Leaks have also surfaced with alleged images and specifications for the upcoming Pixel devices. Still, anyone planning to buy Google’s newest gadgets may want to brace for a steeper price, as the next wave of Made by Google hardware is expected to come with higher costs.
