The smart speaker space is largely controlled by the usual tech giants — Apple, Google, Sonos, and Amazon — but WiiM’s powerful 100W Sound smart speaker makes a compelling case for looking beyond the big names. Its biggest advantage is flexibility: unlike many rival speakers, it is not tightly tied to a narrow set of music platforms. WiiM says the Sound works with more than 20 services and includes Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and ethernet for a wide range of connection options. It also supports common streaming standards such as Chromecast, Spotify Connect, DLNA, Alexa Cast, and more, though AirPlay 2 is not included here despite being available on WiiM’s Pro Music Streamer. That broad compatibility means it can slot into existing multi-room audio setups built around Google Home or Amazon Echo devices.
Discounts on the black and white models do not appear often, but both versions are currently 15 percent off at Amazon and through WiiM’s own store. That brings the price down from the usual $299.99 to $254.15.
WiiM’s more affordable Sound Lite is also on sale with the same 15 percent discount. Normally priced at $229, it is now available for $194.65 at both Amazon and WiiM. The Sound Lite shares the same size, connectivity options, and performance output as the standard Sound, and it can use AI to tune audio quality based on your room. However, it drops the 1.8-inch touch display used for album art and does not include the voice remote, which typically costs around $33 on its own. Even so, WiiM’s speakers and other recent products can be paired wirelessly to create a surround sound system. Read more in our coverage.
