The Senate Judiciary subcommittee is set to delve into what Republicans are labeling as Joe Biden’s version of “Watergate.”
Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, who leads the subcommittee, described the situation as the “Arctic Frost” scheme by the Biden administration. “This isn’t just a single incident,” Cruz stated in his opening remarks. “It’s akin to a modern-day Watergate, where instead of a physical break-in, we’re witnessing a digital invasion involving around 100,000 private communications.”
In preparation for the hearing, Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa, the chair of the Judiciary Committee, unveiled numerous pages of internal Department of Justice documents. These records reveal that former special counsel Jack Smith had issued subpoenas for phone records, text messages, as well as credit card and bank details of Kash Patel.
