Bayern Munich have revived their interest in Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah.

The 24-year-old is recovering from a hamstring injury but is expected to be fit by the end of the month.

Chelsea are willing to sell as they look to raise funds for a left-back and striker, particularly as Chalobah is homegrown and would be classed as pure profit.

Chalobah has made 63 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea since returning to Stamford Bridge in the summer following loan spells at Ipswich Town and Huddersfield in the Championship and at Lorient in Ligue 1.

Chelsea are also waiting on Borussia Dortmund to improve their offer for Ian Maatsen who wants to link up with Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho at the Bundesliga club.

Talks were ongoing on Wednesday over a six month loan with Dortmund chief executive Sebastian Kehl offering around £3million towards the deal for the 23-year-old.

Sancho has been exiled from the first-team squad and training alone since October after his public fall-out with Erik ten Hag.

He was a fan favourite in his previous stint at Dortmund from 2017 to 2021, scoring 50 goals in 137 games and winning the German Cup and Super Cup.

Since his £73m switch to Old Trafford in 2021 he has not had the same impact and  Ten Hag questioned his training performances when he dropped him earlier this season.

Maatsen, meanwhile, rejected a permanent switch to Burnley in the summer, after helping the Clarets win promotion to the Premier League last season. The Dutchman played 39 games for Burnley in the Championship, scoring four goals and setting up a further six.

The Blues are back in action on Saturday evening, when they host Preston in the FA Cup third round, before travelling to Middlesbrough for the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final on Tuesday.
