World Cup Canada vs Bosnia and Herzegovina RECAP: Co-hosts snatch first-ever point as they draw thrilling opening match in Toronto

That brings our coverage from Toronto to a close.

Canada opened its 2026 World Cup campaign with a hard-earned draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina, rescued by an excellent late finish from substitute Cyle Larin.

The co-hosts made a bright start in Toronto, only for Jovo Lukic to halt their momentum with a headed goal from a corner.

There is still one more intriguing fixture to come today, however.

The United States will become the last of the three host nations to begin its World Cup journey when it takes the field later tonight.

Mexico got its tournament underway yesterday with a lively 2-0 victory over South Africa, a match packed with drama and three red cards.

Canada, meanwhile, can take plenty from its opener after fighting back to secure a respectable 1-1 draw this afternoon.

Now the focus shifts to the USA — what will tonight bring?

We’ll be back with all the buildup and coverage to the Stars and Stripes’ showdown later tonight, when they take on Paraguay and are heavily-favored to secure an opening win.

At least, that’s what is being predicted by Casino.net – who used a supercomputer to predict how the host nation will get on in LA.

The sophisticated software believes Pulisic will score, assist and be named Man of the Match in a 2-1 win. Former Newcastle United attacker Miguel Almiron will score Paraguay’s goal.

Let’s see if that’s correct! Make sure to keep an eye out for the Daily Mail’s live blog of USA vs Paraguay from 7pm EST.
