Ryan Reynolds returned to Instagram on Sunday with a World Cup-related post, a notably public move as reports continue to swirl around tensions involving his wife, Blake Lively, and Taylor Swift’s wedding.
The Deadpool actor’s wife is reportedly upset after allegedly being left off the guest list for Swift’s Friday ceremony, despite the pair once being considered close friends.
According to reports, the wedding brought together around 1,000 guests as Swift, who is godmother to Blake and Ryan’s children, married Travis Kelce. Lively, 38, was said not to have received an invitation.
Their once-solid friendship is said to have fractured after Swift was awkwardly pulled into Lively’s legal dispute with Justin Baldoni, a development that reportedly strained the bond between the two stars.
Lively has not publicly addressed the alleged snub, but Reynolds shifted focus to football, sharing a tribute to his home country of Canada after its painful 3-0 defeat to Morocco on Saturday night, a result that ended the team’s World Cup campaign.

While Blake has stayed silent on the reported wedding snub, football fan Ryan paid tribute to Canada following the team’s 3-0 loss to Morocco, which knocked the country out of the World Cup.
On Friday, Taylor and Travis welcomed a cavalcade of celebrities to their nuptials at Madison Square Garden, which were officiated by Adam Sandler and featured performances by Stevie Nicks, Paul McCartney and the bride herself.
A source has exclusively informed the Daily Mail of Blake’s fury over her rejection, which has set a match to any chance she and Swift might mend fences in the future.
Blake is ‘sad and a little bit p***ed. No, a lot p***ed,’ said the insider. ‘That friendship was over before but if there was hope, it’s gone. They’ll never be friends again.’
The Daily Mail has contacted Blake and Taylor’s representatives for comment.
The Gossip Girl star ‘wanted to go,’ the source noted. ‘It feels bad to be excluded like that. She had sort of hoped that despite everything, their history was enough that they’d be included, but that’s not the way it went.’
