Patricia Monsell is not in jail; she was released from the Somerset County Jail late Thursday afternoon after posting $1 million bails.

Patricia Monsell was apprehended around 5 p.m. on May 14, 2004, according to authorities.

According to police, she was charged with first-degree murder and possessing a weapon with the intent to use it unlawfully against another person.

Authorities say Jason Monsell’s mother tried to persuade him to shoot his father as he was sleeping in the family’s Martinsville home.

When he refused, he was ordered outside to run a power washer in front of the home to drown out the sound of gunfire while Patricia shot her husband, he told officials. Patricia Monsell was freed from Somerset County Jail late Thursday afternoon after posting $1 million bonds.
