Snapped James Monsell Murder Story & Timeline

Patricia Monsell killed her husband James Monsell in the year 2004.

Jason, her son, had been arrested the day before for possessing 99 packets of heroin and allegedly told authorities that his mother had attempted to murder her husband for months.

According to authorities, Jason Monsell purchased the narcotics using money given to him by his mother to pay a contract murderer.

Monsell was charged with the murder a week after his arrest. His mother allegedly encouraged him to kill his father as quickly as possible, according to officials.

Authorities say Jason Monsell’s mother tried to persuade him to shoot his father as he was sleeping in the family’s Martinsville home.

When he refused, he was ordered outside to run a power washer in front of the home to drown out the sound of gunfire while Patricia shot her husband, he told officials. Patricia Monsell was freed from Somerset County Jail late Thursday afternoon after posting $1 million bonds.
