2 people were arrested in a store robbery in San Jose. The store robbery led to a car chase which between the robbers and the police which caused a car crash.

San Jose police officers were called to a clothing store in the 3000 block of Story Road as they received a report of robbers brandishing their gun and stole merchandise.

The robbers tried to fled from the scene before the police arrived, which led to a brief car chase near Story Road and East Capitol Expressway.

The police relied on the description of the store robbery suspect’s car given to them at the robbed store, on which they spotted the car about a mile away from the scene of the store robbery near Clayton Road and Harvest Drive. Authorities said that during initial traffic stop, one of the store robbery suspects did not comply and assaulted an officer with a box cutter, which was followed by the said pursuit.

The police attempted a traffic stop to capture the suspects of the store robbery. Authorities says that among the store robbery suspects, it was a woman who was driving the car while her accomplice, a man, exited the getaway car and tried to assault the police officer.

The man then ran back into the car, and the woman drove off. The fleeing driver did not pull over as police chased their car with their patrol vehicle’s lights and sirens flashing.

During the brief pursuit, the store robbery suspects’ car ran into a red light at Story Road and East Capitol Expressway at which the store robbery suspects caused a crash involving several vehicles.

The Police said that both store robbery suspects got out of their crashed car and tried to run away, but were both caught and arrested near the site of the crash.

CBS News reported that the police said all that the people involved in the collision suffered not life-threatening injuries that were to survive.

As police examined and search the store robbery suspects and their car, the police recovered a replica firearm and a box cutter that was allegedly used to assault the officer during the traffic stop.

The Police did not identify the arrested store robbery suspect but revealed that they were booked into the Santa Clara County jail on suspicion of multiple felonies.

More information about the arrests will be released later in the week, says police.
