Alphonso Davies is Real Madrid’s ‘number one transfer target’ for next summer, reports in Spain have said.

The 22-year-old has already established himself among the best left backs in Europe with 156 appearances for the German champions.

He has won five Bundesliga titles and a Champions League while also becoming a key cog for Canada with 14 goals in 41 games. Davies scored his nation’s first ever World Cup goal in Qatar last year.

They claim that Davies’ youth appeals to the club, as he would fit with the Spanish Giants’ newly assembled midfield of Jude Bellingham (20) Eduardo Camavinga (20) and Aurelien Tchouameni (23).

Davies is believed to be keen on moving to the Bernabeu, and is not expected to renew his current contract with Bayern that will end in 2025.

Marca also report that Real have not yet approached Bayern as they hope to avoid a ‘tense situation’ and will not attempt to sign the fullback until next summer.

Losing Davies would be a big blow for the German champions, although they did recently pull off something of a transfer coup by signing Harry Kane from Tottenham.

The 30-year-old has scored three goals in his first three Bundesliga games, helping Bayern to second in the table. They trail free-scoring Bayer Leverkusen on goal difference.

Real have also been boosted by the arrival of an England star this summer, with Bellingham helping them to four wins from their first four league games.

The former Borussia Dortmund star has five goals from midfield already and has become a fav favourite in Madrid.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side will next be in action against Real Sociedad on Sunday, while Bayern face a top-of-the table clash with Leverkusen on Friday.
