As a gameweek that began on 12 January draws to a close, there are two more Premier League matches to enjoy this Sunday.

Both games will be televised, starting with West Ham United’s trip to Sheffield United in the early kick-off. This meeting between the Blades and the Hammers promises to be an intriguing affair, with the former more desperate for points at present.

There could be a twist in the title race in the day’s late kick-off, with Liverpool travelling to in-form Bournemouth. The Reds can move further clear of second-placed Manchester City at the Vitality Stadium, but it will likely be a tough contest.

Here is your guide to Sunday’s offering of Premier League fixtures.

Already eight points adrift of safety, time is running out for Sheffield United. We’re over halfway through the campaign and the Blades have accumulated just two victories and nine points, with Chris Wilder unable to dramatically stem the tide at Bramall Lane since rejoining the club.

However, Sunday’s encounter could be a promising one for Sheffield United, welcoming a West Ham side to Yorkshire that were dumped out of the FA Cup midweek at the hands of Championship outfit Bristol City.

The Hammers are also without several key players for the trip north. Mohammed Kudus is away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana, while Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta are also strong fitness doubts for the clash with the Blades. Sheffield United will be aiming to take advantage of David Moyes’ absentees.

A fixture that could prove decisive in the title race, Liverpool have the chance to move five points clear of second-placed Manchester City on Sunday. However, a resurgent Bournemouth stand in their way, with Andoni Iraola’s men having won seven of their last nine matches in all competitions.

Former Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke is also in terrific form, winning December’s Premier League Player of the Month award after six goals in as many matches. He’s never found the net against his old side, but he’ll be desperate to change that on Sunday.

The Reds will still be favourites on the south coast though, even with their lengthy list of absentees. Mohammed Salah and Wataru Endo are on international duty, while Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dominik Szoboszlai are among those injured.

The good news for Liverpool supporters is that Jurgen Klopp’s side have already beaten Bournemouth twice this season. The first was a 3-1 victory at Anfield back in August, after which they beat the Cherries 2-1 at the Vitality Stadium in November in the Carabao Cup fourth round.
