Dear Hephzibah Elementary Families,

The school community at Hephzibah Elementary School is mourning the passing of a second-grade student. This heartbreaking event has deeply affected both students and staff.

To assist during this difficult time, grief counselors are on hand to offer support services. These services will remain available to students as long as necessary. Parents who feel their child might benefit from counseling are encouraged to contact the school to arrange these services.

Please be aware that your child may experience strong feelings in response to this tragedy, including sorrow and depression as well as anger and fear. Your child may have a special need at this time for your comfort and support; please try to be available to listen to them.

This is a very difficult time for all of us. We want to be sensitive to the needs of your children.

Please call us if we can be of any assistance.

Sincerely,

Dr. Josh Workman – Principal
