Bravo fans were thrown into a frenzy on Wednesday due to speculation that two long-running shows from the Real Housewives franchise had been canceled.

The rumors emerged after Bravo revealed a range of new and returning programs to the network, which included a fresh Housewives installment, The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.

New seasons of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Beverly Hills, Potomac, and Orange County were announced, alongside Married to Medicine, Southern Charm, and its spin-off Southern Hospitality.

However, the Real House of New York and New Jersey was noticeably absent from the announcement.

Fans of the franchise are now speculating that both shows have been canceled following cast issues and poor ratings.

‘I’m a little surprised about RHONY but I think RHONJ is done,’ wrote one fan.

‘I think the Jersey craze is kinda over culturally, so it makes sense they’d move on from RHONJ,’ added another.

A third wrote, ‘What does it mean @BravoTV because you didn’t announce #RHONY or #RHONJ as being renewed!? Like what are you trying to tell us!?’

Another commented, ‘I would much rather them start a whole new city than try to beat a dead horse. STOKED for Rhode Island!!!!!’

However, other viewers believe that Bravo is still finalizing the casts for the next seasons of both shows and that’s why they weren’t included in the announcement.

‘They’re doing extensive casting for both which is why it wasn’t announced. The shows that were announced are the ones that they’ve finished casting for. Neither RHONY nor RHONJ have been confirmed cancelled,’ one fan explained.

‘There is no way they will cancel [RHONY]. They will at least try one more season,’ said another.

RHONY first premiered in 2008 with Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps, Jill Zarin, Alex McCord and Bethenny Frankel.

The series went on hiatus after season 13 in 2021, before returning last year with an all-new cast for season 14.

Unfortunately, the reboot was poorly received by viewers and the show seems to have been on pause after its disastrous fifteenth season.

Meanwhile, the Real Housewives of New Jersey was officially put on hiatus for a casting overhaul following season fourteen.

Last year, Andy Cohen insisted that no official decisions had been made about the future of RHONJ, before shutting down reports that Teresa Giudice, Jennifer Aydin, and Dolores Catania were all confirmed to return.

‘We’ve made no decisions on the Real Housewives of New Jersey,’ he said on his SiriusXM show Radio Andy.

Cohen was also completely flabbergasted when he found out that Aydin had announced on Instagram that she was returning to the series next season.

‘She confirmed that she’s returning?’ he gasped, sounding absolutely stunned.

Cohen was quick to shut down Aydin, but then let slip that Bravo had ‘done plenty’ of work behind the scenes on the new cast, before implying that Aydin was not part of those discussions.

The show is currently in the midst of a reboot which will most likely see many of the show’s current stars replaced with fresh faces.

Last year, sources connected to the series shut down rumors that original franchise villain Danielle Staub could return for a new season, telling TMZ that the show wants to ‘move forward, not backward’.

While production are still ‘months away’ from making any final casting decisions, they’re reportedly after a more ‘positive’ and ‘loving’ group of women to replace the toxic drama that’s plagued the series for years.
