FROM THE LONDON STADIUM – West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur shared the spoils in a low-quality 1-1 draw on Sunday afternoon.

The visiting team, buoyed by their 3-1 victory against Bodo/Glimt in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final last Thursday, opened the scoring 15 minutes into the match after a mistake by home defender Max Kilman. The ex-Wolves captain, who joined West Ham for £40 million over the summer, was dispossessed by Mathys Tel. Tel then sent a pass across the penalty box to an unmarked Wilson Odobert, who netted his first Premier League goal for Spurs.

However, as seen frequently this season, Spurs struggled to maintain their advantage. They conceded an equalizer just before the 30-minute mark when Jarrod Bowen netted his tenth goal of the campaign from a tight angle, assisted by a dynamic Aaron Wan-Bissaka who played him in behind the defense.

Although Richarlison had a chance for the visitors, shooting over the bar before halftime, both teams encountered difficulties in retaining possession. This led to a back-and-forth match that fell short of the spectators’ expectations.

Bowen had a glanced header well saved by Guglielmo Vicario in the final ten minutes of the game, before James Ward-Prowse’s stoppage-time free-kick whistled just wide of the Italian’s post.
