A rumor about Aaron Rodgers joining a swanky suburban Pittsburgh golf club ended up being false.

Rich Walsh from KDKA put a stop to online rumors suggesting that the future Hall of Famer quarterback had become a member of Nevillewood Country Club in Collier Township, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh, which fueled speculation about Rodgers joining the Steelers.

The future of Rodgers in the NFL has been uncertain since his departure from the Jets following a disappointing 2024 season, which prompted a significant reorganization within the franchise.

Walsh clarified the situation by posting on social media over the weekend, “This rumor is NOT true. I just talked to the Club at Nevillewood’s President, Wayne Chiurazzi, who confirmed Aaron Rodgers did not join.” He added, “The Club would welcome him if he signs with the Steelers. It’s true that Nevillewood is a stunning suburban golf course in Pittsburgh.”

Walsh had added in a separate post that a “person” inside the organization had recommended the club to Rodgers and that “as of right now Rodgers hasn’t joined.” 

The Steelers are believed to be one of Rodgers’ only teams left in play for next season if he decides to return to the field for the 2025 season. 

Should Rodgers sign with the Steelers and join the club, a full membership would entitle him to “full access to all club facilities, including the golf course and practice facility. Their family members, including children living at home, up to the age of 23, also enjoy use of all club amenities with certain limitations on the use of the golf course.”

Several teams had been linked to Rodgers, including the Giants before they signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. 

The Saints have also been viewed as another potential option after Derek Carr announced his retirement.
