JSO Sgt. Steve Rudlaff said two people were detained at the scene, but the sheriff’s office does not believe they were involved in the shooting.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Early Tuesday morning, a man was fatally shot outside a gentlemen’s club located in the city’s Spring Park neighborhood, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
According to JSO Sgt. Steve Rudlaff, officers were dispatched to the club around 2 a.m. following reports of gunfire. On their way, the sheriff’s office received information that an individual had been shot.
Police said when the officers arrived, a man between the ages of 30 and 40 was found shot. Rudlaff did not mention any other victims in the shooting.
The man, whose identity was not released by JSO, was then taken to a local hospital where he died, Rudlaff said.
According to JSO, the man left the gentlemen’s club when he got into an argument with “other individuals” and was shot.
“At this time, we do not believe that this incident is nothing else than isolated,” Rudlaff said.
Rudlaff further explained that two people were detained at the scene, but JSO does not believe they were involved in the shooting.
Furthermore, the sheriff’s office does not have a description of the shooter(s) nor the vehicle they fled in.
