Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office investigators said the man was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is in critical condition Sunday following a shooting incident that occurred late Saturday night while he was playing video games with another man in a Northside residence, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police said they were called to the 11000 block of Key Haven Boulevard around 11 p.m. Saturday to a person shot.

Police discovered a man in his late 30s with at least one gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to the hospital with injuries that threaten his life, officials stated.

According to JSO investigators, the preliminary investigation revealed that the two men were engaged in a video game when a disagreement escalated. At that point, one of the individuals brandished a firearm, authorities reported.

The suspect was detained on the scene, police said.

The shooting is still under investigation, anyone with information should call JSO at 904-630-0500, or call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 866-845-TIPS.
