A man riding an unidentified two-wheeled vehicle was struck and killed by a pickup truck during the Wednesday morning rush in the Bronx, police said.
The man was traveling west along East 145th Street in Mott Haven when a pickup heading south on Brook Avenue hit him at about 8:25 a.m., according to authorities.
He suffered severe head and body injuries and was transported to Lincoln Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The 55-year-old pickup driver remained at the scene and had not been charged as of the latest update, police said.
Investigators had not determined whether the victim was riding a bicycle, scooter or moped.

The Bronx crash came two days after another fatal cycling incident in Central Park, where a 71-year-old bicyclist died after colliding with a loose dog, police said.
Douglas Adams was riding north on the park’s East Drive near East 84th Street at around 8:20 a.m. Monday when an unleashed golden retriever ran into the roadway and crossed his path, police and sources said.
The collision sent Adams over his handlebars and headfirst onto the pavement, according to police.
He was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
The recent deaths follow another fatal New York City cycling crash last week, when a dump truck struck a delivery worker’s e-bike in Herald Square before leaving the scene, police and an advocacy organization said.
The 50-year-old cyclist and the truck were both traveling west on West 34th Street near Seventh Avenue on the morning of Sept. 28 when the collision occurred, police said.
The woman was making a delivery on a JOCO rental e-bike and was pronounced dead at the scene.
