Mohamed Sabry Soliman: What we know about illegal immigrant accused in Colorado terror attack

Fox News has learned that the suspect in a “targeted terror attack” in Boulder, Colorado, was in the United States illegally. The attack occurred during a pro-Israel event urging Hamas to release Israeli hostages.

The police reported that Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, was arrested after allegedly attacking the “Run for Their Lives” group on Pearl Street and was hospitalized with minor injuries.

This group is part of a grassroots organization that holds global running and walking events to advocate for the release of Israeli hostages by Hamas, and this particular chapter convenes weekly, according to police.

Soliman is an Egyptian national who overstayed his visa after entering the U.S. during the Biden administration, three Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement sources told Fox News.

The FBI said six people, ages 67 to 88, were injured and taken to the hospital. One of those victims is considered to be in critical condition.

FBI deputy director Dan Bongino said the attack is being investigated as an act of “ideologically motivated violence,” based on early information, evidence and witness accounts.
