'Wicked: For Good' trailer released: How to watch

Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande return to Oz in this first look at the magical sequel.

WASHINGTON — The anticipation has ended. The official trailer for “Wicked: For Good” is out, marking Elphaba and Glinda’s celebrated comeback to cinemas.

Under the direction of Jon M. Chu, “Wicked: Part One” featured Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande in the roles of Elphaba and Glinda, and it emerged as a major box office success of 2024. This film brought a fresh perspective to the Oz universe, focusing on the unexpected bond between the two witches.

The movie earned nearly $1 billion worldwide and received 10 Academy Award nominations, including for Best Picture.

Fast forward a year, the saga continues with the much-awaited sequel, “Wicked: For Good,” which is scheduled to hit theaters on Nov. 21. The sequel resumes from the conclusion of the initial movie, tracing the path of Elphaba, now a declared adversary of the state, while Glinda embraces her position as the Good Witch.

The trailer gives the first hints to how Elphaba and Glinda’s stories play out. Viewers also got a taste of Erivo and Grande’s version of the fan-favorite song “For Good,” which played in part under the trailer.
