What do we know about Mohamed Soliman, Boulder attack suspect

() Mohamed Soliman, the man accused of attacking a crowd of people in Boulder, Colorado, is making another court appearance Thursday.

Soliman is accused of throwing two incendiary devices into a crowd of demonstrators calling for the release of the remaining Israeli hostages in Gaza, which injured 15 people. He told investigators that he planned the attack for more than a year and wanted to kill as many people as possible.

Soliman already faces a federal hate crime charge.

Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser told that in the state of Colorado’s case, Soliman is facing 15 counts of attempted murder and a charge that involves “extreme indifference.”

“The actions that were taken were done with extreme indifference to human life and also with a goal,” Weiser said. “We know that this individual will be held to account and will be spending almost certainly the rest of his life behind bars.”

Weiser added the most important part about Soliman’s court appearance will be about the charges the district attorney is bringing against him.

“There is no justification for this type of violence,” Weiser said. “We can’t give hate any corner, we can’t ever say anyone doing something like this can be defended as something someone does in a civilized society.”

His next court appearance is set for July 15.
