THE wife of suspected Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann is speaking out about her husband and his arrest publicly for the first time ever.

In a shocking interview, she addressed the most frequently asked question about her life as the wife of the alleged Long Island Serial Killer.

The Gilgo Beach Killer: House of Secrets docuseries will give viewers new insight into the life of Heuermann, who is accused of killing seven women.

The documentary brings viewers inside the suspect’s home for the first time while his family confronts tough questions about his alleged double life.

A trailer shows Heuermann’s estranged wife, Asa Ellerup, sitting down in the family’s home as a producer asks, “How could you not know?”

Although her response isn’t disclosed, the trailer reveals her discussing how she felt upon discovering the charges against her husband, the 60-year-old Manhattan architect.

“The investigator says to me, ‘Have you heard about the murders on Gilgo Beach?’ I’ve heard of them,” she recalled.

“Does everybody really believe everything they hear?”

The trailer also shows the conflicting feelings Heuermann’s family has about the case.

“One person saying this, one person saying that, but my memory says this,” the suspect’s daughter, Victoria, said in one of the clips.

Heuermann’s best friend also speaks, revealing he confronted the alleged killer about the heinous accusations.

“There’s so much evidence against you, I don’t even believe you, and you’re my best friend,” the man said, recalling his conversation with Heuermann.

“Convince me, give me something. Did you do it?”

The upcoming docuseries is the first time Heuermann’s family members have spoken out since his arrest.

Ellerup and her daughter, 27, have only made comments to reporters through their attorneys.

Near the end of the trailer, Ellerup shared a seemingly normal conversation between spouses after Heuermann called her from jail.

“Hello,” Heuermann could be heard saying in the call.

“How you doing?” Ellerup asks.

“Alright, how are you today?” Heuermann replied.

“I’m doing great, now that I’ve got you on the phone,” Ellerup said as the camera panned to photos of the couple as newlyweds.

FAMILY IN SHAMBLES

In late March, Ellerup was spotted arriving in court for Heuermann’s hearing right as the couple finalized their divorce.

They reached an uncontested divorce settlement that same month, hours before Heuermann appeared in court for a pre-trial hearing.

Her lawyer, Robert Macedonio, informed Newsday that “Ms. Ellerup, after 29 years of marriage, acknowledges it’s time to focus on creating a new future for herself and her children,” confirming the divorce settlement.

Everything to know about Rex Heuermann

Rex Heuermann from Long Island, New York, has been charged with the murder of four women.

Macedonio added that Ellerup would attend court hearings and was still “withholding judgment on Rex’s guilt until all evidence is played out in the courtroom.”

Ellerup filed for divorce six days after Heuermann was arrested in July 2023.

She and her two adult children also left the family’s home in Massapequa Park, which had been raided by police after Heuermann’s arrest.

The family has since moved to a property in Chester, South Carolina, an hour north of Columbia.

CHILLING ACCUSATIONS

The docuseries will dive deep into the lives of Heuermann’s alleged victims before their tragic deaths.

Heuermann was shockingly arrested on July 13, 2023 and charged with the murders of Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, and Amber Costello.

The women’s remains were found along the same stretch of Gilgo Beach in December 2010 in a case that has grabbed national attention for over a decade.

Police have linked him to the deaths of four other women in separate cases that go all the way back to 1993.

Heuermann has been behind bars since his arrest and is awaiting trial.

The Gilgo Beach Killer: House of Secrets will premiere on June 10.

The three-part series is produced by G-Unit Film and Television, owned by rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
