LA ICE Raids Get Wild; Protester Makes Bad Decision to Block Van; Mayor Bass' Statement Is Incredible

According to reports, there were multiple ICE raids in Los Angeles on Friday.

ABC7 highlighted that the raids sparked “gatherings of protesters who eventually had confrontations with authorities.” Both the FBI and local law enforcement were present to assist in managing the situation.

At one scene in downtown Los Angeles, a crowd of people tried to prevent authorities from leaving in vans after multiple people were detained.

ICE action occurred at a Home Depot store in Westlake, and an Ambiance store in the Fashion District in downtown L.A.

The demonstrators criticized the LAPD for its involvement in crowd management, arguing that as a sanctuary city, cooperation with ICE should not occur. This illustrates the complexity of the scenario, with the LAPD attempting to fulfill its duties amidst the tension.

As federal agents departed with those they had detained, certain individuals from the protest tried to block the vans. In an act of defiance, one person even obstructed a van’s path as it kept moving and attempted to back away. Unfortunately, this was not a wise decision and ended poorly.

The person went down, and it wasn’t clear if he was hurt.

What was crazy was on top of all that, Democrat Mayor Karen Bass acted as though it’s ICE who is in the wrong, and not the people trying to block law enforcement or the people who are here illegally.

“We will not stand for this,” she said in a statement, adding that she was “deeply angered.”

She also told the city, speaking to NBC4:

“My message to them is that we are going to fight for all Angelenos regardless of when they got here, whether they have papers or not,” said Bass. “We are a city of immigrants, and this impacts hundreds of thousands of Angelenos.”

This is enforcement of law. Democrat politicians are now saying, just flat-out, they are against enforcing the law.

This purports to be video of the incident involving Huerta.

It isn’t clear what happens before the video starts, but you see a man falling and then you also see a woman being moved from in front of a van by an agent.

We’ve seen craziness like this before, including in Minneapolis and in New York City. It’s getting out of hand, and the Democrats are ratcheting it up.
